The following morning there is a Vernal Equinox spiral walk around Mt. Tamalpais.  For me, the timing is auspicious, as I recently wrote a blog entry titled Minding The Mountain. I’m excited to participate in this walk for the first time, and offer my mandala spiral workshop as a “pre-walk” meditation.

More details about the walk will be available at the workshop.

Known as CircumTam, this 14-mile ritual walking meditation has been done since the 60’s. The practice is maintained by Matthew Davis, whose book, Opening the Mountain (Shoemaker & Hoard, 2006), tells the whole story.

Opening the Mountain has this as one of the epigraphs, from C. G. Jung:

I began to understand that the goal of psychic development is the self. There is no linear evolution; there is only a circumambulation of the self. Uniform development exists, at most, only at the beginning; later, everything points toward the center. This gave me stability, and gradually my inner peace returned.

It would be so good to see you, and I hope you will join us.
Please pass on to your friends & associates who might be interested.

happy spring
