A wonderful story from my in-box this morning sent from Cheryl Bennett, the Director at 2nd City Council Art Gallery:
I thought you would appreciate this story.
A father, who brought his 5- and 2-year-old to the reception, called here to tell us what happened after they left. When they got home, the 5-year-old announced that he was going to make a mosaic for his mother since she was unable to attend.
He very carefully took the mosaic invitation and cut out all the individual squares. He then re-pasted them on a piece of paper and wrote “I love you Mommy.”
I am assuming that most 5-year-olds don’t know what mosaics are. I love this art inspired story and the thoughtfulness of the little boy. Never underestimate the effect of what you do – it is truly the ripple-in-the-pond effect. Thank you.
Thank YOU, Cheryl, for sharing this!
This *obviously inspiring* show is up until August 5th. Go see it!
