What a pleasure it was to give a gallery talk for the Palos Verdes Art Group this past week. One of their members had been my student at a Getty Villa mosaic workshop, and invited me to present about the “Tesserae” show I curated at 2nd City Gallery.
The Group has been meeting for 18 years! Every month they choose a new exhibition to visit, then out for a nice lunch. What a civilized idea. The group is part of a support committee for the local Palos Verdes Art Center.
Art groups are a wonderful way to share and support art, discuss topics and form bonds. Why not join one – or start one – in your community?!
